McLaren Coming To India: It’s Official

The British carmaker McLaren recently exclaimed that they’ll finally be coming to India. If you are not aware right now there are a few McLarens in our country but those are the imports. Meaning, until now there were no official dealerships nor there was dedicated after-sales support. Although, the exact time when they’ll be coming and the pricing of its line-up are yet to be disclosed.

  • Another good news for the McLaren fans is that the British supercar maker has listed India on its official website.
  • So, now when the company launches the cars in India, the buyers will be able to configure their McLaren.
  • Speaking of the Line-up, as per some reports McLaren will initially bring 3 models to our shores. The modes include McLaren GT, 720s, and the recently launched Artura.

McLaren’s India Line-up

McLaren has some really well-engineered, track-focused machines in its portfolio. From the super fast McLaren Senna to the vehicles inspired by the GT3 and GT4 racing cars. But as of now, the British carmaker is bringing the comfortable GT, a pair of wild 720S  and the new kid around the block Artura.

Starting with one of the fastest production cars on the planet in the McLaren 720s. And the best part is that the company is bringing both, the coupe as well as the spider to India. Also, the 720S is capable of reaching from 0-100kmph in just under 3 seconds. And on a long stretch of road, it can achieve a top speed of 341kmph. This is possible from a 4-litre V8 twin-turbo engine that pushes 720hp of max power and 770Nm peak torque.

If a buyer wants the car to be comfortable on long road trips with occasional track days, the McLaren GT is just spot on. That said, the GT comes powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that puts out 620hp of max power and 630Nm of peak torque. This allows the car to rocket from 0-100kmph in just 3.2seconds. And on the highway, you can achieve a top speed of 326kmph. Well, that is definitely fast for a cruising vehicle.

The youngest vehicle in McLaren’s arsenal is the Artura. With the launch of the Artura, the company also launched a new MCLA carbon fibre monocoque platform that will underpin the future cars from the company. Additionally, the Artura is the first vehicle to sport the MCLA platform. With that, this time around, the Arturs is more of a hypercar than a supercar. Why? the powertrain of the vehicle includes an IC engine and a motor that assists the engine in delivering a max power output of 680hp.
