The MG Air EV was recently spotted testing in India, and it’s a sign that this tiny EV may make its way to Indian roads. MG currently has only one electric car on sale, the ZS EV, which is priced quite high. With the launch of the Tiago EV, Indians now have access to a cheaper electric car and the Tiago will dominate this segment until it gets any competition. Here’s what we know about the MG Air EV!

Design
The MG Air EV is a very small car. There’s a lot of emphasis on very here, because this car is smaller than the Maruti Alto! Even on the LWB variant, the length is less than 3m! It gets tiny 12-inch wheels that drive it, and the entire theme of this car is small. It looks boxy, but the details and elements throughout the body are very futuristic. This is one of those cars that is visibility electric!

What does the MG Air get?
Well, the Air is not at all small when it comes to features. The MG Air is expected to be very tech-loaded and will feature dual screens along with connected car tech. Especially for India, MG is aware that we love the features and the brand will definitely make this a small outside but big inside package for us!

Battery and range on the MG Air
The MG Air gets two options, one offers 200KMs of driving range, and the other offers 300KMs. Battery capacities are not yet known, however, power figures range between 40HP and 67HP. Yes, these numbers are not powerful at all, but the Air is not a performance car by any means. It is one of those cars that will replace the scooters that you use for daily driving. Considering it for the city, 67HP is more than sufficient to take you around without any hassles.

India launch and pricing
We expect the MG Air to be cheaper than the Tiago EV in India. This needs to be done if MG really wants to be competitive and stand out. Currently, in the Indonesian market, the Air is priced between Rs. 13.2 and Rs. 15.9 Lakhs. The MG Air may launch in India sometime in 2023.
