MG Hector Plus makes its way to the Official Website

MG Motors has recently teased us with another glimpse of Its upcoming 3-row MG Hector Plus which has now been listed on the brand’s official website with just a few weeks before its official launch. The MG Hector Plus first made is debut at the Auto Expo 2020 alongside MG’s another flagship SUV the MG Gloster which is also scheduled to launch later this year. However, MG had planned to launch its new Plus size Hector in May but was the plan was later postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.

The 3-row SUV from MG was also recently captured being delivered at the dealership stockyards, hinting that the company has commenced dispatching ahead of its launch. This could also mean that the company might start delivering the new Hector soon after its launch. However, MG has not opened the bookings for the same so this might be too early to jump to any conclusions.

How is the new MG Hector Plus different from the Hector SUV?

The all-new MG Hector shares its platform with its 5-seater cousin the 5-seater SUV. However, the new 3-row row is expected to get some subtle cosmetic upgrades which include a new chrome-plated glossy black front grille flanked by a new set of LED DRL’s.

The new Plus size Hector will also feature a new set of headlamps along with redesigned front and rear bumpers, new rear tail lamp design and revised skid plates.

Coming to its interior, the new 3-row Hector will come equipped with new captain seats in the middle row with new tan faux leather upholstery, beige headliner and revised dashboard with matching tan panels. Additionally, it will also feature individual rear AC vents for the row passengers alongside adjustable headrests. Moreover, it will also support OTA updates allowing the customer to update the infotainment systems firmware, themes and other things on their own.

Other than these new additions pretty much everything has been borrowed from the 5-seater Hector SUV including a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a multi-functional steering wheel and many others.

What Power’s the MG Hector Plus?

Under its hood, the new Hector will be powered by the same fiat-sourced 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol unit and the 2.0-litre diesel capable of generating 143 bhp and 250 Nm peak torque and 170 bhp and 350 Nm torque respectively.

Both the engines will come paired to a standard 6-speed manual gearbox and an optional dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) as optional on the petrol model.

What does the MG Hector Plus take on?

The new Hector 3-row SUV will actively rival the likes of the Mahindra XUV500, 2020 Hyundai Creta, Innova Crysta, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the upcoming Tata Gravitas.

MG India has not yet revealed the prices of it but we can expect the 3-row SUV to be priced under the ₹15 lakh to ₹20 lakh price bracket.
