Fact: Time and sea waves wait for no one. Well, is this something true for technology? In short, yes! Technology waits for no one, it just keeps on advancing. Be it electronics or automobiles, everything is reaching new heights when it comes to tech. But the most important factor of tech advancement is the convenience and environment.
So, when it comes to automobiles, here are 10 cars that come with the latest technology. There could be many pillars when talking about the latest tech. And the vehicles listed could be advanced in terms of either powertrain, features, safety, drivetrain and more.
Koenigsegg Gemera (600hp from a 2.0-litre 3 cylinder engine)
Koenigsegg is a unique name and so is the technology behind its vehicles. One such vehicle from this carmaker is the Gemera. What’s so special about the car? Well, for starters this is a hypercar that has only a 2.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine. Yes! You read it right, a 3-cylinder.
That’s not all, this “tiny friendly giant engine” (this is what Koenigsegg likes to call the engine) makes a whopping 600 hp and 600 Nm of peak torque. The last time I checked, a two-litre 4 cylinder TSI motor from Skoda makes just 190hp of max power.
Gemera uses multiple technologies in the engine to produce nearly 3 times the power of a 2.0-litre TSI motor. That said, this uses a twin-turbo setup with about 29psi of boost. That’s not all, the hypercar also has 3 motors that drive up the total power to 1700hp.
Tesla Model S (0-100 in just 2.4 seconds)
Green energy or battery power is what that might take the world like a pandemic. That said, Tesla with its line-up already shows a small trailer of what could be the future of automobiles. This carmaker surely has no boundaries when it comes to innovation. Tesla Model S is one of the admired all-electric vehicles across the globe.
What’s so special about the sedan? Tesla Model S is capable of driving on its own on highways and even on the streets. But due to safety reasons, the diver has to constantly touch the steering to show his/her presence and is not at all drowsy. That’s just the half story. Model S is faster than most of the supercars or even hypercars when it comes to acceleration.
For instance, Bugatti Chiron takes 2.5 seconds to go from 0-100kmph and that is fast. But the Tesla Model S is even quicker and can clock 100kmph from standstill in just 2.4 seconds.
Jaguar XE SV Project 8 (World’s Fastest 4-door Production Car)
You surely have seen the Jaguar XE running on Indian roads. This sedan looks as if it has been built for some serious purpose. Long story short, XE’s chassis is capable of more than just a daily commuter sedan. This is exactly what people at Jaguar know. Enters the vision of Project 8. This super sedan made its debut back in 2017 at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. This started as a conventional XE later modified by JLRs Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) to become a 592hp beast.
That said, this sedan rides on massive 20” wheels wrapped with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tyres. Both combined offer an exceptional look and feel connected from behind the wheel. Talking about the engine, it comes with a 5.0-litre V8 that pushes 592hp of max power and 700Nm of peak torque.
For reference, the engine is supercharged and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. All the tech combined can propel the vehicle from 0-100 in just 3.3 seconds. That’s not all, Jaguar XE Project 8 is the world’s fastest production sedan around the Nurburgring race track.
Honda Civic Type-R (A Really Powerful FWD Production Car)
Civic is one of the vehicles that have a fairly good fan following. Be it the ricers or the tuner, Honda Civic is one of the potent vehicles and also comes as a track machine from the factory also called the Type-R. Additionally, Honda Civic Type-R is one of the fastest front-wheel-drive cars in the world.
For you to know, this Honda has the second-fastest lap time around the Nurburgring Track in the Netherlands. It was Renault Magane RS Trophy that broke Civic’s record by around 3 seconds last year.
Honda Civic Type-R is one of many vehicles that boast what automotive technology and advancements are capable of. That said, a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine powers this hatch. Talking about numbers, the motor produces 316hp of max power and about 400Nm of max torque.
The numbers don’t sound exciting though, but here’s a fact. Honda Civic Type-R can do 0-100kmph in just 5.4 seconds. Plus, the aerodynamic package is what makes the Civic around a track fast.
Toyota RAV4 (One of the Most Fuel-Efficient SUVs)
Toyota as a car manufacturer knows how to utilise its motorsport technology into daily road cars. One just example is the SUV RAV4. But what so special about this SUV? You may ask. For one, Toyota RAV4 is one of the first SUVs on the globe to run on a hybrid powertrain. Talking about hybrid, RAV4 runs on a 2.5-litre inline 4-cylinder motor that is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Well, the combined power output is around 203hp and the torque stands at 250 Nm. Seems like a normal vehicle right? The secret lies in the efficiency numbers. Considering the power and torque the RAV4 delivers about 13 kmpl in city and 16 kmpl out on the highway. Because of the hybrid powertrain, the overall carbon footprint is way lower than its competition.
