With a history of doing absurd yet fruitful comparisons, I am back with another one. And this time, we compare the compact SUV, Nissan Magnite against the magnetic hatchback, Hyundai i20. Should you go for a hatchback or go for an SUV? Which variant will you be getting in your budget? It’s time we find out.
Let’s set the price first! (On-road Prices)
So we are not going to cross ₹11lakh in this comparison. Under this budget, for the Nissan Magnite, you will get Turbo CVT XV Premium Tech Pack variant at ₹10,83,523. And when it comes to Hyundai i20, you get the Asta IVT Petrol variant at ₹10,86,539. Do note that these are On-road prices at 14.12.2020.
Nissan Magnite vs Hyundai i20 | Powertrain Comparison
We are not going to compare all the options available with both the cars as they both offer a plethora of options. We will only be comparing the variants in talk.
Powertrain Comparison |

At the same price, Nissan Magnite will offer better power and much better torque. If we talk about the engine refinement, we are all well aware that both Nissan and Hyundai offer well-refined engines. And both the cars are offering the same transmission. So, Nissan Magnite can suit the ones who want that extra grunt on highways which the i20’s Kappa engine won’t be able to offer. But there is much more to a car than the engine.
Exterior and Interior Design | Nissan Magnite vs Hyundai i20
We cannot compare the exterior design for sure, it is totally dependent on personal preferences. Do let us know about your thoughts on the comparison of the looks. But when it comes to interiors, Hyundai i20 offers a plush interior as compared to the plain black interiors of Nissan Magnite. With chrome accents and sleek dashboard, Hyundai i20 feels much more premium when compared to the Magnite. Nissan Magnite also feels inferior, thanks to more plastics inside the cabin.

As you have already acclaimed that the above comparison is absurd. It really is, it was what whats the best you can get in 11 lakes. The thing is magnite doesn’t offer an oil burner. With the comparison with venue 1.0 turbo petrol cvt magnite 1.0 turbo petrol is a clear winner with the pricing if you can let that sunroof and 20 ps of extra power let go. With the i20 you get the oil burner as an option and the handling and on road behavior takes an entire another level as compared with the magnite.
