Tata’s new flagship, the new 7 seater Harrier named the Buzzard at the Geneva Motor Convention 2019. The India model, however, will still be sold under the name of Tata Gravitas in India.

New Power Who This?
Even though the new SUV gets the same 2.0L diesel engine like Tata Harrier, it has more horsepower to compensate for the weight gain with 167 horsepower under the hood. The engine will come under the Kryotech170 branding.

Tata Gravitas To Cost More
The 7 seater Tata Gravitas won’t be an easy buy with the expected price reaching the 20 Lakh INR mark. The current 5 seaters fully decked option goes for 16 lakhs INR and with the 7 seater getting way more features compared to it its only gonna cost more. It will also get an Automatic transmission and 4WD making the high cost worth it.

Automatic Option Coming
As is the norm Tata Gravitas will also get an Automatic transmission. Currently, it only comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Rumours about a 9-speed transmission were quashed after Tata confirmed it will only have a Hyundai sourced 6-speed torque converter unit.

Independent Rear Suspension
The new Tata Gravitas will get an optional AWD and system along with a rear independent suspension system giving it an unmatched performance on uneven surfaces.

Tata Gravitas Gets New Rear Design
While we are on the topic of the rear Tata Gravitas will also get a larger rear quarter glass, a new set of wrap-around tail lamps, a new bumper, new fenders and much more. Although unrelated to exterior it will also get a height increase to allow taller people to sit a bit easier.

The Longer Harrier
The new Tata Gravitas will also get a size increase to accommodate the new seats that are coming making it three-row seats. Gravitas is also visibly bigger than Harrier.

Tata Gravitas Launches In February 2020
Gravitas is confirmed to launch in February 2020 most probably during the Auto Expo 2020 alongside Nexon EV.
The New SUV will rival the upcoming MG Hector and Toyota Fortuner after its launch.
