Tata Motors seems to have grand plans for the year 2020. The Indian automaker has got 2 of its new cars launching this month. The Altroz is set to launch on the 22nd of this month while the much-awaited electrified version of Tata Nexon will be launching on the 28th of this month too. The Nexon EV’s launch will be followed by the commercial debuts of the facelifted and BS6-compliant versions of the Nexon, Tiago, and Tigor as well.
Tata Motors has also announced that Nexon EV will feature 35 smart connectivity features through its ZConnect app suite. These connected features are sure to meet the expectations of tech-savvy customers. We have listed below the features that the customers can experience via the connect app.
Dedicated EV features
The ZConnect app features essential EV details like the current charging levels, charging history, available range, and the nearest charging stations.
Remote commands
- Now riders can control various features like lock/unlock, switch on/off the lamp or even activate the horn through the remote.
- To add a cherry on the cake the users can also switch ON the air conditioning or access the diagnostics report of the key vehicle parameters using the remote.
Location-based services
- The ZConnect app suite allows users to use navigation services to plan long trips. It also does the work of displaying charging stations on the way.
- It also offers a ‘Sharing Live Location’ feature which allows riders to share their live locations with chosen Friends/Family members for security.
Search services
- The app allows the customers to find the nearest charging station and avail preferential access to over 300 chargings station units across major Indian cities.
- Besides the charging station, you can also search for the nearest tata service centre.
Safety and security
- The ZConnect app is programmed to send out instant accident notifications, an emergency SOS and a panic notification if necessary.
- In case the car gets stolen the users can remotely immobilize their car using a dedicated 24×7 call centre.
Alert services
- The app is designed to push over 20 different instant alerts to inform the rider about critical vehicle health and safety parameters.
- Also, the riders can set a Geo-fence or time fence limits and set a custom speed.
Driver behaviour monitoring and tribes
- The ZConnect apps also monitor the driver’s behaviour and give a driving scorecard at the end of each trip.
- You also get insights during instances of harsh braking or acceleration, average speed, etc.
- Riders can also share their scorecards and insights on the inbuilt community of EV buyers called “tribes” or on social media.
The Tata Nexon EV is launching in the Indian market on 28th Jan 2020. It will get its power from a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack which is paired to a three-phase electric motor that can deliver 127hp and 245Nm of peak torque. It will come in with an automatic transmission and dedicated sports mode!
