Tata just revealed the Nexon EV MAX, and it might be the game-changer for EVs in India. The regular Nexon EV has already been selling pretty well and has a long waiting list. However, Tata feels that people are still sceptical about buying an EV. They feel that the Nexon EV MAX can be more of an assurance to help buyers with their range anxiety. Let’s talk about the Nexon EV Max today.

What’s different about the Tata Nexon EV MAX?
You can find all the details here. But, to sum it up, it gets a bigger battery pack and a couple of extra features. This bigger battery and new motor ensure a range of 437 KMs (claimed) as compared to the 320 KMs on the regular Nexon EV. New features include an auto-dimming IRVM, ventilated front seats, auto-hold, and an electronic parking brake.

Why the Tata Nexon EV Max?
Well, there are many people who want an EV but also want a bigger range. However, cars like the MG ZSev and the Hyundai Kona that have higher ranges are much more expensive than the Tata Nexon. Therefore, with the new Nexon EV, Tata is trying to fill the gap that’s present in the market. Up until now, someone looking to spend Rs. 20 – 21 Lakhs on an EV had no options, but now they do.

Why will this be a game-changer?
A lot of people looking for cars with a budget of Rs. 20 – 21 Lakhs usually end up buying the KIA Seltos or the Hyundai Creta. If they want a sedan, they go for the Honda City, nothing more. But now, with the Nexon EV MAX falling into that price bucket and giving a longer range, Tata Motors will be able to tap into the mass market that they have been missing out on. With up to date features, a good range, fast charging, and a competitive price, the Nexon EV MAX will surely be a much better option than the ICE or EV competitors!
