As manufacturers continue to struggle with the global semiconductor crisis, some brands have managed to pull off good numbers despite that. Here are the top 10 brands in January 2022.
-
Maruti Suzuki (128,924 Units)
Maruti is the only brand here that has been crossing the 100,000 mark consistently. It is the most popular, trusted, and sought-after brand in India when it comes to budget and value for money cars. Its strong sales and service network is what makes it a go-to brand for many buyers.
-
Hyundai (44,022 Units)
Features, it is one trick that Hyundai has always had up its sleeve. When it comes to aesthetic appeal, comfort, and features, Hyundai shines up. Apart from this, Hyundai has also been in the Indian market for a very long time, and its presence is quite prominent. So that helps the buyers in trusting their products a bit more.
-
Tata Motors (40,077 Units)
This is the highest-ever sales figure that Tata motors have ever achieved! With the launch of the Punch, Tata now has two very strong (5-Star Rated) selling cars in their line-up. Apart from the Nexon and the Punch, the Tiago and the Tigor have also been witnessing promising numbers. With the launch of their CNG variants, these numbers are bound to go up!
-
Mahindra (19,964 Units)
While this number may seem low as compared to other brands, it’s still a very strong figure for a brand that primarily focuses on SUVs only. A major chunk of this number is coming from the Thar and the XUV700, both coming in at upwards of Rs.15 Lakhs!
-
KIA (19,319 Units)
KIA has managed to sweep into the Indian market quite well. Currently, they have 3 cars on sale in India, the Sonet, Seltos, and the Carnival. Here, the Sonet and the Seltos have consistently been the top performers in their respective segments. Much like Hyundai, KIA cars also attract customers with their looks and features.
-
Honda (10,427 Units)
In the SUV market, brands like Honda have taken a big hit. The number of people looking for a sedan has drastically decreased in recent times. While the Honda City still remains the best car in its segment, the segment itself doesn’t have much traction.
-
Renault (8,119 Units)
Renault’s sales numbers have been slowly growing in the last couple of months. In January 2022, Renault stood at a 32.45% growth as compared to December 2021. The Kwid, Kiger and the Triber are some examples that are helping Renault which this growth.
-
Toyota (7,328 Units)
Toyota’s line-up in India has decreased, and this number is a result of the same. Currently, the Glanza, the Innova, and the Fortuner are the most prominent products that Toyota is offering in India. Considering that the Innova costs more than Rs.20 lakhs and the Fortuner costs more than Rs.40 Lakhs, this number is still pretty decent.
-
MG (4,306 Units)
MG stands 9th on this list of top 10 brands in January 2022. Even though the products are brilliant, MG is still struggling with the brand image that comes with the Chinese parent company.
-
Nissan (4,250 Units)
Nissan comes on this list with a good 41.20% growth as compared to December 2021. The Magnite has been quite the saviour for Nissan in India. It is an excellent product in its segment and offers good features, looks, and a decent turbo-petrol engine.
