As the market drives towards electric vehicles, two-wheelers have picked up faster than four-wheelers. We have a lot of companies in the electric 2W market with their respective products. Indians have appreciated electric 2W well; let’s look at the top 10 electric 2-wheelers sold in July 2022:

Hero Electric
Hero Electric was the top performer, with 8,953 units sold. They have a 19.85% share in the market and accounted for 37%MoM growth with 6,504 units sold last month. Hero accounted for a significant 108% YoY growth as compared to 4,223 units sold in July 2021.

Okinawa
Okinawa was in the second position with 8,093 electric 2-wheelers this month, accounting for a 213% YoY growth with only 2,580 units sold last July. As compared to the previous month, they reported a 16% MoM growth with 6,984 units last month.

Ampere
Ampere had the most significant leap, with an 860% YoY growth going from 657 units last July to 6,313 electric two-wheelers sold this July. They have witnessed a steady increase in their sales but accounted for a 3.5% decline in MoM sales.

TVS

TVS is primarily famous for products like Apache, but they have managed to secure a position in the top 5 when it comes to electric 2W as well. They accounted for a 557%YoY growth going from 648 units to 4,258 units sold this July. TVS also accounted for a 119% MoM growth as compared to 1,946 units last month.

Ola

Ola has been popular for their electric two-wheeler S1 Pro, and they have also been working on electric cars for the Indian market. They accounted for a 34.5% decline in MoM sales, with 3,859 units sold this July. They are also planning a Move OS 3 update this Diwali for their scooter.

Bajaj

Bajaj also reported an increase as the sales of their electric scooter Chetak went up to 2,433 units this July. They accounted for a 234% YoY growth and a 35%MoM growth with 721 units last July and 1,798 units last month.

Revolt

Revolt also reported significant YoY growth of 630%, with 2,317 electric two-wheelers sold last month. They went a long way from 317 units in July 2021 but accounted for a 4.4% decline in MoM sales with 2,424 units last month.

Ather is the only company reporting a decline in both YoY & MoM sales with 1,287 units this July. They accounted for a 28% YoY decline with 1,799 units last July and a 66% MoM decline with 3,830 units sold last month.

Benling accounted for growth in both YoY & MoM sales, with 1,167 units sold last month. They reported a 146% YoY growth as compared to 473 units last July and a 21% MoM growth with 959 units last month.

Okaya
Coming to the last brand on our list, Okaya accounted for a 41% MoM growth, with 1,076 units sold last month as compared to 760 units sold in June 2022. Overall, the electric 2W market has grown significantly in the past year. Which one of these brands would you prefer?
