The festive season is almost here and people have started buying cars just like they did earlier. The automotive industry seems to be back to normal as per the sales reports. In this article, we talk about the top 10 selling cars in October 2020. Most of you might have already guessed by the title that Maruti Suzuki still holds the majority in the chart. Just to let you know, this month, Maruti holds 7 out of 10 positions in the top 10 chart. Let’s have a look at the detailed analysis.
-
Maruti Suzuki Swift
The top-selling car for the month of October 2020 is Maruti Suzuki Swift. With a sale of 24,589 units, Swift stands in the first place. Swift was the top-selling car for the month of September 2020 too. Although it is available with a petrol-only engine, it continues to sell better than its competitors because it’s a Maruti Suzuki after all!
-
Maruti Suzuki Baleno
Another one from Maruti. This premium hatch is ruling its segment ever since it was launched. Standing at the second place among the top-selling cars for October 2020, Baleno ended the month with a sale of 21,971 units. On the other hand, as always, the Toyota Glanza is nowhere to be seen on the list. What’s your thought on people not buying Glanza knowing that Baleno and Glanza are the same cars inside?
-
Maruti Suzuki WagonR
Here comes the tallboy! At the third position this time with a sale of 18,700 units. WagonR is available in 2 fuel options and also comes with an optional AMT. Maruti’s tallboy has been loved by the audience in every generation it has ever existed in. Although Maruti should now think about upgrading some visual standards by adding DRLs and projectors (the WagonR Stingray had projector headlamps!). What’s your take on the same? Comment down below!

Maruti Suzuki Alto
We said this last month too! Maruti Alto is in a dire need of an update. Indians will continue to buy Alto till it exists in the market. MSIL should now think of upgrading the model seeing the competitors like Kwid. Alto ended up selling 17,850 units this month and Kwid is nowhere to be seen in the sales charts. This is the only reason we guess, Maruti is not planning to upgrade Alto anytime soon.
-
Maruti Suzuki Dzire
The compact sedan from MSIL stands at the fifth place with a sale of 17,675 units. The sub-4-metre sedan market in India is growing in terms of demand and competition. We have the Honda Amaze, the Hyundai Aura but Dzire remains unbeatable in terms of sales every time!
-
Hyundai Creta
The flagbearer of the Korean brand in the terms of sales. Hyundai Creta has seen a lot of criticism in terms of design ever since it was launched. We guess the love that the Indian audience has shown to this new SUV in town has made it overcome all the criticism that it used to face in the earlier days. Hyundai Creta sold a total of 14,023 units in the last month.
-
Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS
The sporty hatch from Hyundai. You get a petrol engine, a diesel engine and on top of that, you get a turbo-petrol unit too! This hatch is therefore catering all sorts of the audience and gaining decent sale number for Hyundai. NIOS stands at 7th position among the top-selling cars of October 2020 with a sale of 14,000 units.
-
Maruti Suzuki Eeco
As always, Maruti Eeco is still among the top 10 selling cars for October 2020 too! This time, Eeco recorded a sale of 13,309 units and we guess there is still demand more! What do you think? Why are Indians still buying Eecos on a large scale? Leave your thoughts below.

Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza
It’s 2020 and Maruti Suzuki is selling petrol cars only. Talking about Vitara Brezza, it seems that the Indian buyers are interested in just the brand name and not worried about the fuel anyhow! Maruti Brezza continues to sell a decent number. For the month of October 2020, Brezza sold 12,087 units.
-
Kia Sonet
Last but not the least, Kia Sonet has entered the list of the top 10 cars within a short time span of its launch in India! Sonet has achieved rocket high sales within the first month itself! Sonet sold 11,721 units for the month of October 2020
