If a car manufacturer is able to sell decent numbers of a sizeable car in an era where downsizing is the name of the game, then one can probably attest that those cars enjoy a great deal of popularity amongst the general public and buyers in the segment simply can’t refrain themselves from bringing home a piece of that prestige.

BS6 Toyota Fortuner vs BS6 Ford Endeavour | Powertrains
With the Influx of BS6 emission norms in the country, all the manufacturers along with the OEM manufacturers had to put in an immense amount of efforts to make their engine technology compatible with the BS6 norms. Similar was the case for Toyota and Ford.
For the BS6 variant, Ford ditched the 3.2 L and 2.2 L motors entirely which were serving the pre-BS6 Ford Endeavour. Instead, they developed an all-new 2.0 Litre engine for the 2020 Ford Endeavour which they mated to a 10-Speed Automatic Transmission. This engine despite being downsized produces power and torque figures which are capable of matching the performance of the bigger engines, the car got earlier. So the new endeavour is a rather perfect balance of power and efficiency than it was ever before.

The Fortuner’s BS6 updated engines have the same displacement as before and produce the same power figures. It is the same 2.8 Litre for the diesel and 2.7 Litre for petrol.
However, with the Facelift slated for launch soon, the Fortuner’s 2.8 Litre diesel mill is expected to have power figures bumped up to 27PS and 50Nm more than the outgoing model.
Which diesel becoming a less favourable option each passing day, this won’t bode well for the Endeavour as it does not come with a petrol variant, unlike the Fortuner.
