Maruti Suzuki has plenty of vehicles up its sleeve that are ready to hit the market in the years to come. From mid-life updates to generation changes, several vehicles from Maruti’s inventory are ready to either be updated or upgraded. And one of Maruti’s top upgrades will surely be the new-generation Maruti Suzuki Baleno hatchback.
The Latest Update
While the arrival of the Baleno hatchback is something that now the whole world knows, the latest report suggests that the all-new face-lifted Baleno hatchback is expected to arrive in February 2022. And while there’s no official statement from Maruti in this regard, but the news still seems to be true as the upcoming Baleno facelift has started its camouflaged testing. And here’s what we know about the hatch till now.

What’s New?
The Baleno has been an iconic hatch, topping the sales charts quite often. But since 2015, the Baleno hasn’t seen any major update, which is something that was bothering Baleno’s huge fan base. The 2022 Baleno however, will bring in the much-needed upgrade to the Baleno.
The first set of spy shots that have recently popped up online, confirm that while the overall silhouette and platform of the hatch will likely remain unchanged, the rear, as well as the front fascia, will see the major changes in the shape of restyling and redesigning. Another detail that the spy shot confirms is that the hatch is all set to be offered with an all-new tail lamp design. Nothing else is clear as of yet, but we expect changes to the grille, bumper and headlights as well.
Reports also suggest that the hatchback will also bring in design tweaks on the inside as well, which will be mainly reflected on the dashboard and steering. Other changes like the digital instrument clusters, large infotainment, new alloys, etc. are also expected.

Tweaks under the hood?
Considering Baleno’s massive hold of the market, we guess the facelift wouldn’t bring any major changes under the hood. It will continue to be powered by two 1.2 litre petrol engines with one burner producing 83 PS while the other producing 90 PS with a 12V mild-hybrid onboard.
