Volkswagen Golf GTI Teased ahead of Geneva Motor Show debut

This year will mark the 45th year of when Volkswagen first showcased the Golf GTI at the 1974 Frankfurt motor show and now Volkswagen is back with the eighth-generation Golf GTI which is on its way to be showcased at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2020.

The company has also released a fresh teaser of the car and with the teaser, many of the details have also been revealed which includes that the all-new Volkswagen Golf GTI will support a gaping lower grille which will eventually occupy the entire bumper.

Additionally, there will also be a five-point LED guide lights situated on either side of the grille along with black inserts and extensions around the grille and the rub-guard. VW has claimed that the that Golf GTI will also support GTI diffusers on both the left as well as the right tailpipes.

Talking about the engine specifications we can expect the Golf GTI to feature a standard Audi sourced ‘EA888’ turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol engine pushing the maximum power output to 241bhp and a more powerful 296bhp TCR model unit that will enable the Golf GTI to make almost 329 hp.

Talking about the hardware, the all-new VW Golf GTI will also feature an adaptive chassis control, a digital cockpit and a custom ‘travel assist’ system up to a speed of 210kmph.

The next-gen Volkswagen Golf GTI also supports red stripes on the radiator grille with an optional LED crossbar integrated into the DRLs.

Not much is known about the Golf GTI. However, it will make its first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show stage and is likely to go on sale shortly after. We can surely expect the Golf GTI to make its Indian debut by the end of 2021.
