The list is no way a tier list and is completely random. The prices vary in different cities but they will be under 2 Lakhs INR for the entire country.

1. Royal Enfield Classic 350

   

   The well-known bike that has defined what Royal Enfield is in India. A 350cc bike, its a really good choice with its old school design the standing with most people. Its already ported to BS6 with a 346cc engine that powers the bike with 19.1 bhp and 28Nm and is paired with a 5-Speed Manual. IT comes with a single-channel ABS as standard and can be upgraded to dual-channel.

2. Benelli Imperiale 400

   

   Another one of the classic looking bikes, Benelli Imperiale 400 defines old school cool. IT has the looks to stroke nostalgia and power of current times. It is powered by a 374cc single-cylinder fuel-injected engine which is air-cooled. This engine lets out 20.7bhp and 29Nm. 3. Bajaj Dominar 400

   

   Bajaj’s flagship model the Dominar 400 is the companies first ever 400cc bike. The bike comes with a 373.3cc single-cylinder engine. This engine is liquid-cooled and comes with fuel injection technology. It peaks outputs 39.4bhp at 8650RPM and 35Nm Torque at 7000RPM and is paired with a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch system. The bike is also BS6 compliant and was released earlier this month. 4. Hero XPulse 200

   

   The first off-roader on the list, the Hero XPulse 200 is made for going off the beaten path. Its lightweight body its and ADV(adventure) bike made for people who want to offroad but have a limited budget. The bike is powered by a 199cc engine which outputs 17.8bhp and 16.4Nm torque. The BS6 version has been revealed although the price is still not announced. It is still expected to be below 2 Lakhs INR and at the max will go around 1.3 Lakhs INR.

   The current Hero XPulse 200 costs 1.06 Lakhs INR

5. Husqvarna Vitpilen and Svartpilen 250

   

   After many years of waiting India finally got some huskies on the road. The Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and the Svartpilen 250. Good looking, the capability to drive on roads and off-roads
   what else could one ask for? Backed by Bajaj/KTM in India both bikes get the same 250cc 4 stroke engine that outputs 30bhp and 24Nm of torque. These bikes also get Bosch dual-channel ABS. Along with a slipper clutch, the engine also gets a 6-speed gearbox.

   The bikes are priced at 1.80 Lakhs INR

6. Yamaha YZF R15

   

   The bike that almost all of us have seen some point in our lives, the 12-year old bike is still going strong. A racetrack worthy bike it comes with a 155cc engine with 19.3bhp and 14.1Nm torque. The BS6 variant has already been launched and ready to be grabbed. Even though its 155cc the performance is nothing to scoff at. It can be used for both daily commute and a bike to sharpen your skills on.

   The Yamaha YZF R15 is priced at 1.45 Lakhs INR

7. Royal Enfield Himalayan 

   

   Another Royal Enfield on the list, the Himalayan is the futuristic bike, unlike the old school classic. It’s a good bike for off-roading and is strong enough to take new paths and any challenge they might provide. The engine is a 411cc single-cylinder with an output of 24.5bhp and 32Nm torque. The bike also features dual-channel switchable ABS which allows ABS on the rear tires to be turned off.

8. Jawa 

   

   Another classic looking bike with the performance of the modern engines, Jawa is a good pick for old school lovers. The engine is a 293cc single-cylinder with 28bhp and 27Nm to show for which is liquid-cooled and fuel-injected.IT has multiple options available under the 2Lakhs price tag.

   Starting at 1.55 Lakhs for single-channel ABS while the dual-channel costs 1.64 Lakhs. 

9. Suzuki Gixxer 250

   

   Entering an already competitive segment Gixxer had a lot to prove when it launched last year which it did. The upgrade over Gixxer 155 the new bike gets a 249cc engine that produces 26bhp and 22.2Nm torque. Gixxer goes for a sleek and stylish looking bike.

   The BS6 prices are not revealed yet but it is expected to be below 2 Lakhs for certain. 

10. KTM 250 Duke

    

    If you are a fan of this bike you must be wondering where is the Duke. As we said at the top, the list is purely random and not a tier list depending upon the number the bike is positioned at. So we wanted to save KTM 250 Duke for last. The 250 cc engine fills the gap between the lower 200 Duke and the more powerful 390 Duke. The 248 cc engine outputs 29.6bhp and 24Nm torque and is liquid-cooled. Its a high performing bike and is ideal for street use.

    The KTM 250 Duke is priced at 1.97 Lakhs INR.
