10 Upcoming Cars From Maruti Suzuki In India

Ever since the second wave of the COVID pandemic has lowered, it seems as if all leading automobile OEMs are trying their best to capture this new booming demand for automobiles in India. And when it comes to setting new trends, there is no ignoring India’s largest manufacturer: Maruti Suzuki. So here are 10 upcoming Maruti Suzuki Cars slated to be launched in 2021-22.

1. New-Gen Maruti Celerio
   

   

   Spied testing several times now, the new generation Maruti Suzuki Celerio is almost here. Expected to launch around September end, the next-gen Celerio is expected to arrive with two engine options – a 1.0-litre (68 PS/90 Nm) petrol unit and a 1.2-litre (83 PS/113 Nm) petrol unit. Transmission options are expected to remain unchanged including a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT.

2. Maruti Dzire CNG
   

   

   A respite from the constantly rising fuel prices, Maruti Suzuki is prepping up to launch the iconic Dzire with Maruti’s S-CNG capabilities. A test variant of the Dzire CNG was recently spied and it is likely that the brand is about to push the Dzire CNG into the market anytime soon. As is expected from any CNG trim, the Dzire CNG too is expected to be slightly underpowered as compared to its petrol counterpart.

3. Maruti Vitara Brezza CNG
   

   

   The latest vehicle to be given the CNG charm will be the Vitara Brezza, which according to leaked specification will be powered by a 1.5-litre engine that churns 105 PS and 138 Nm on petrol and 92 PS and 122 Nm on CNG.

4. Maruti Swift CNG
   

   

   Adding the CNG alternate fuel to iconic models, the Swift too will undergo a CNG transition. As per leaked specs, the CNG onboard will produce a power output of 72 PS and 95 Nm. The transmission will be limited to a 5-speed manual, but with a CNG on board, the overall package of the Swift will surely be attractive.

5. Maruti Jimny
   

   

   The much-awaited model from the house of Maruti Suzuki, a 5-door version of the Jimny is also cooking for the Indian market. This LWB version will likely debut towards the end of 2021 or Q1 of 2022. When launched, the Jimny will lock horns with the Thar giving it a run for its money.

6. XL6 Update
   

   

   In addition to launches, Maruti Suzuki is also planning to update the XL6 MPV, somewhere around early next year. The update is expected to come with additions to the exterior styling, a few additional features, and most importantly a diesel engine onboard. This diesel powertrain will be the tried and tested 1.5-litre DDiS unit, which will now be a BS6 complaint.

7. Maruti Baleno Facelift
   

   

   The iconic Baleno hatchback is also in line for a mid-life facelift next year. With a few changes in exterior design and the inclusion of some more comfort and convenience features, the powertrain is expected to be retained. The transmission as well is expected to be unchanged, since the Baleno is already an exceptional hatch when it comes to powertrain.

8. New-Gen Brezza
   

   

   Amongst other iconic models, the OEM is also working on the next-gen version of the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza. As per speculation, the new-gen version will be a solid upgrade over the existing version and can come with larger infotainment, sunroof, connected car tech etc. Engine details are currently unknown, but the very thought of it seems incredible.

9. New-Gen Maruti Alto
   

   

   One of India’s favourite vehicles, the Maruti Alto is also slated to receive a generation update around mid-2022. As per speculations and reports, the new-gen Alto will be based on the Heartect platform and will likely be a bit larger in dimensions, even though it is expected that the powertrain will remain unchanged, but will offer a 1.0-litre engine as well. CNG too will continue to be offered.

10. Upcoming Midsized SUV
    

    

    As per reports, Maruti Suzuki and Toyota are jointly working on a new mid-sized SUV that will potentially lock horns with the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. The vehicle is expected to be based on Toyota’s DNGA platform, and will likely replace the slow-selling S-Cross. Likely to arrive in late 2022 or even early 2023, it will be exciting to see what the vehicle will offer.
