Car Movies For The Car Enthusiasts To Kill Time In The Quarantine

COVID19 has got us locked inside our homes. But how will the car enthusiasts get their hands on the steering wheels and rev the engines now? Well, I definitely cannot finish the virus nor can I make sure that the quarantine is over soon. But, I surely can give you a list of car movies that will help you pass the distressing time. That sound good! Yeah? So let’s get started.

1. 2 Fast 2 Furious

   

   The first-ever Fast and Furious came and the people went crazy. Seeing people driving American muscles and Italian beauties and making money was something the movie watchers have always loved. This made the box office collection of the first edition of the Fast and Furious skyrocket. So in 2003, director John Singleton came up with the second instalment of the series, 2 Fast 2 Furious. The movie stars Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Eva Mendes, Cole Hauser, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and James Remar.

2. Ford Vs Ferrari

   

   One of the most epic rivalries in the history of the automobile is the one between Henry Ford II vs Enzo Ferrari. The bitter rivalry resulted in the making of one of the well known American muscle, Ford GT40. This saga was beautifully portrayed in Matt Damon and Christian Bale starrer Ford vs Ferrari movie which was launched last year. Christian Bale played the role of the legend, Ken Miles and Matt Damon played Caroll Shelby. Anyone who is familiar with any of the companies will surely love to watch the movie. It is a proper representation of what happened. You might even get a bit emotional by the end. 3. Baby Driver

   

   A young man with partially impaired hearing has got a very important skill. He can drive like a pro by just playing the right track of music. His insane moves while driving has led him a special place in the team that serves a crime boss, Doc, for robberies. That’s it! I will leave you on a cliffhanger so that you have an urge to watch the movie. You will not get bored watching this movie, trust me!. This car has got romance, thrill and crime all at one place. So enjoy 113 minutes of insanity while watching this movie. Do you think that the impaired hearing will cost Baby, Yes! baby is the name of the protagonist.

4. Death Race

   

   It’s a Jason Statham. That must be enough to tell you how good this movie is for sure. Convicted for a crime he has not committed, the unemployed Jensen Ames (played by Jason) has to compete in a deadly race to earn his freedom. The movie is set in a time when there is political and economical unrest in America. You will see heavily armoured and weaponised vehicles in the movie. Will Jensen be able to win the race which claims lives of around 2/3rd of the participants? Watch the 111 minutes of madness.

5. Need For Speed

   

   Aaron Paul starrer Need for Speed is a must-watch for those who love racing. Toby Marshall (played by Paul) is a struggling custom car builder who had to go to jail for two years. This car movie is a perfect blend of redemption, revenge and motor oil. The plot is… Nah! I won’t tell you. You’ll get to see Shelby Mustang, Chevy Camaro, GTA Spano,Koenigsegg Agera R and many other supercars too.

6. Fast and Furious 7

   

   Paul Walker used to always say that if someday speed kills him, don’t cry, because he was smiling. This is the movie when the men cried. It was the last movie, Paul Walker starred in as he died in a car accident involving Porche Carrera GT. The ending of the movie will surely make any man, who has watched the whole series, cry. I’ll tell you all about it when I see you again! I had tears in my eyes while writing that short but deen line. My personal opinion: the Fast and Furious series died with Paul Walker.

7. Le Mans

   

   The 24 hours of Le Mans is the oldest active car race which tests the endurance abilities of the car as well as the driver. It is one of the most prestigious car races in the automobile industry. The Le Mans movie is based on this race. Porsche driver, Michael Delaney (played by Steve McQueen himself) is haunted by the memory of an accident from the last year’s race which led to the death of one of the competitors. Will he be able to overcome the fear and triumph the toughest 24 hours of his life? Watch and get to know!

8. Tarzan The Wonder Car | On Special Demand

   

   The list has made to the top 10 car movies competing with Hollywood movies. That is an achievement in itself. But what’s more intriguing is the concept of self-driving cars the movie introduced way before it was a reality. The Toyota MR2 modified by DC was the centre of attraction in the movie. The supercar is taking revenge from the ones who were culprits in the death of its owner, all by itself. The 162minutes of suspense will surely take you back to your childhood, the best way to kill time in the self-quarantine.

9. Transporter

   

   Jason Statham again! When you talk about cars, this man is surely gonna come again and again! This time he plays the role of Ex-Special Forces operator Frank Martin. All he does is drive his BMW to transport goods or humans, whatever the situation demands. Watch the thrill-packed 92mins where the man drives in his three-piece suit and wearing hand gloves. I won’t tell you anything about the plot, but there is some kidnapping and money involved. So go and watch it now. P.S. One of my friend learnt driving watching this movie!

10. Closer to the edge

    

    ‘Just because you’re breathing doesn’t mean you are alive’. It is a documentary which features motorcycle racers reveal their motivation which leads them to participate in the most dangerous and deadliest event in the sport, Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. The race requires the shear commitment far beyond one can think of. Many have made the ultimate sacrifice while trying to triumph the toughest2 race on the planet.
