The third-gen 2020 Hyundai Elite i20 will be launched somewhere in mid-2020. Hyundai will be showcasing the next-gen Creta and the Verna facelift in the upcoming Auto Expo but has decided to skip showcasing the Elite i20 for now.

Talking about the design, the test mule was spotted multiple times and we have got a glimpse of what the Hyundai Elite i20 carries. There is a new design in line with the carmaker’s latest models like the Nios. Exteriors include projector headlamps, shark-fin antenna and even a sunroof!

That’s not all. Hyundai’s Elite i20 will also have the connected car technology, wireless charging and a digital instrument cluster. The new-gen elite i20 will be offered in 3 engine variants. All of these engines will be BS6 compliant (of course!). The first engine will be the 1.2-litre petrol unit that puts out 83PS and 113Nm. The second petrol engine will be the one housed by the Venue. yes, the i20 will receive the 1.0l turbocharged petrol engine too! The diesel variant of the Elite i20 will get the Seltos’ 1.5-litre BS6-compliant diesel engine.

The third-gen Elite i20 will be priced a bit higher than the current version. The current i20 comes with a starting price tag of Rs. 5.52 Lakhs. It is now expected to be launched by mid-2020 and will rival the Honda Jazz, Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the upcoming Tata Altroz!
