With the 7-seater Hyundai Creta spied being tested on international soil, Rumours have also surfaced the internet that Hyundai’s sister brand Kia could also be working on the 7-seater version of the Seltos compact SUV is nothing but just a mere rumour as according to leading media reports Kia has ditched the idea of creating a 7-seater version of the Seltos but will launch an MPV based on the Seltos model.

This step taken by Kia Motors seems to have been a desperate attempt towards parting its way from its mother brand Hyundai. However, while Hyundai has decided to stretch the Creta SUV by adding another row while Kia is planning to launch a new car built on an all-new platform as part of its “India Strategy” which could be a three-row MPV.

Additionally, In the nearing future, there could only be one derivative of the Kia Seltos which is the Kia Seltos EV which will be restricted to the Chinese market only and could be introduced by mid-2020.
Moreover, Kia Motors is also eyeing to launch the Sonet compact SUV in India by August and also aims to sell over 1,80,000 vehicles in India by the end of 2020. Kia also expects to start generating a profit by the second half of 2020 as well. It is still unknown that when will Kia launch it’s Seltos based MPV but according to recent media reports the MPV could break it cover by early 2021.
