India’s one of the largest carmakers Mahindra and Mahindra has hit a new milestone as the company has rolled out its 25th lakh vehicle form the company’s Nasik plant. The mainstream 25th lakh vehicle was a Mahindra Scorpio SUV which continues to be the company’s most popular offering.
Mahindra has managed to achieve this milestone in almost 39 years since the Nasik plant was operational in 1981. The designated plant produces a total of 210,000 vehicles per annum and covers over 147 acres of land.

The company’s Nasik plant not only caters to the domestic demand but also looks upto to the export requirements as well.
Talking about this achievement, Mahindra & Mahindra’s, Chief of Manufacturing, Automotive Division, Vijay Kalra said “This achievement is a significant moment for us in our automotive journey and bears testimony to the relentless effort put in by each member of the Nasik plant. The plant has constantly achieved manufacturing excellence and reflects the commitment and spirit of our Rise philosophy by accepting no limits. I am sure that this achievement will be a stepping stone to many more accolades for our Nasik plant in times to come”.
The company’s Nasik plant first produced the FJ Mini Bus in the year 1981 and used to produce a mere 8 vehicles a day as compared to almost 700 vehicles today and are exported to over 34 countries worldwide.
Mahindra’s production list at the company’s Nasik plant includes Scorpio, Scorpio SC/DC, e-Verito, Bolero, Marazzo, XUV300, and the Thar. The plant has also received a number of awards ranging from the Future Ready Factory award from IMEA, MPCB: Vasundhara Award from the Chief Minister and the Excellence in TPM award by JIPM.
