Maruti Suzuki Crosses 20 Million Sales Mark!

Maruti Suzuki is a car brand that all of us have experienced in some way or the other. Many of us would remember the iconic 800 as our first car or can refer to the WagonR being a taxi always! No doubt MSIL is the most loved brand in India. The Indian audience has shown immense love for this car manufacturer due to the highly affordable and fuel-efficient cars it produces.

The continued love of the Indian audience has helped Maruti Suzuki to achieve a new milestone in terms of sales. Yes, this car manufacturer has crossed a commendable sales number of 20 million vehicles in India! The iconic Maruti 800 was rolled out back in 1983. It has been less than 37 years since then and the manufacturer has achieved a sales number of over 20 million.

Commenting on the milestone, MSI Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa said, “We are overwhelmed with this new record. Achieving this milestone is a great accomplishment for Maruti Suzuki as well as for our suppliers and dealer partners.”

Maruti Suzuki stated that it took them nearly 29 years to achieve the ‘10 million’ milestone but they have crossed the 20 million vehicle sale number in a record time of 8 years after that.

MSI has introduced factory-fitted CNG vehicles as well as smart hybrid vehicles which has lead to a great demand of their vehicles among the Indian audience. Further, Maruti has already launched eight BS6 compliant vehicles in its lineup. Maruti Suzuki has got great plans for the Indian market in the future too! Maruti Suzuki is looking forward to launching a small EV for the Indian market. They are also testing over 50 electric vehicle prototypes across the country to evaluate them on the real driving conditions across different terrains.
