Tata Motors recently lifted the covers off the all new Tata Punch, or as we called it, the HBX. The Punch has not yet rolled out to the dealerships, but it has created a sense of excitement in the market. Potential buyers have a lot of questions about the new micro-SUV.   1. When is it reaching dealerships?

Tata has already unveiled the Punch, and we expect it to reach the dealerships this October. They plans on starting deliveries with the on-set of the upcoming festive season.

  1. Will the Tata Punch have a sunroof?

The official interiors have not yet been revealed. However, considering the segment Tata is aiming to hit, a sunroof doesn’t seem to be in the list of features on the Tata Punch.

  1. What kind of safety can we expect on the Punch?

The Punch will be built on Tata’s ALFA platform, which also encapsulates the Tata Altroz. Considering this, we can be sure that the Punch will also be just as safe as the Altroz!

Tata is most likely to equip the Punch with the 1.2L 3 cylinder petrol that we see on the Tigor/Tiago. Higher variants might get the i-turbo engine that we see on the Altroz Turbo variant.

  1. Will an EV version come to the market?

Nothing of this sort has been confirmed by Tata as of now. However we do hope that Tata launched an electric variant of the Punch.

  1. Will the Punch come with an automatic option?

Yes, the Punch will most likely have the option of a 5-speed AMT gearbox, similar to the one on the Tiago and the Tigor.

  1. How will the Tata Punch be priced?

Considering the pricing of the competition, we expect it to come in at a starting price of around Rs.4.5-5 Lakhs.

Tata has not officially revealed the interiors and the equipment list yet. We expect it to have interiors and features similar to that of the Tata Altroz. This will include the floating infotainment unit and the part digital part analog instrument cluster.

It will compete against mini-SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Mahindra KUV100, the upcoming Hyundai Casper and the Nissan Magnite.

  1. Will punch too have the drive modes and will it really compite with likes of magnite and kiger as it does not seems to have the hill hold and traction control ?
