What’s under the hood?
- The new Skoda Kushaq is based on the new MQB A0 IN platform which also underpins the Volkswagen Taigun.
- Going by leading media reports we can expect the Kushaq to be offered with two turbo petrol engines.
- 1.0-litre TSI motor, generating 110ps of max power and 175Nm of pure torque and a 1.5-litre TSI engine.
- Both the engine options can also be seen in the current-gen rapid and T-Roc.
- The engines will come mated to a standard 6-speed manual transmission and an additional 7-speed DSG.
What else can we expect out of the new Skoda Kushaq, in terms of features?
- On the Inside, We can expect large touchscreen infotainment, a stand-alone element on the dashboard. The size of the screen can be 10-inch and will be supporting smartphone connectivity.
- We’ll also be getting the two-spoke steering wheel similar to one seen on the 2021 Skoda Superb.
- As for the storage options, you’ll be getting central storage, cupholders and glove box.
- On the outside, we will get to a full LED set-up accompanied by a redesigned chrome grille.
How much will it cost?
- As part of the most competitive compact SUV segment, we can expect it to be priced aggressively in order to go toe-to-toe with its active rivals including the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and the Mahindra XUV500.
- This clearly indicates that it should fall in the ₹10-lakhs to ₹20-lakhs price bracket.
