  1. BMW i3

The i3 is a mid-size SUV that will be priced around Rs.1 CR. The expected range is around 300KMs from the 33kWh battery that makes 184HP. It is expected in India in 2022.

  1. Mahindra XUV300 Electric

Mahindra plans on putting an electric motor on their very successful XUV300. The electric variant is expected in 2022 and should be priced around Rs.15-18 Lakhs.

  1. Porsche Taycan

The Porsche Taycan is already on sale in foreign markets. Depending on the variant you choose, the Taycan offers a 79.2kWh and a 93.4kWh battery. Power figures range from 408HP to a massive 761HP. Prices start at Rs.1.5 CR.

The EV variant of Tata’s premium hatch should launch in India by June 2022. Prices are expected to be somewhere between Rs.12-15 Lakhs.

One of Maruti’s best selling cars, the WagonR will get an Electric variant in 2022. It will be priced between Rs.8-10 Lakhs in India.

  1. Hamia Bird Electric EV1

Chinese brand Hamia is planning on launching the Electric EV1 in India next year. It gets two battery options, a 20kWh and a 28kWh. Claimed range for the latter is 200KM and it’s 300KM for the former. Prices are expected to be kept under Rs.10 Lakhs.

  1. 2022 Hyundai Kona

The updated version of the Hyundai Kona is expected in India in early 2022. It has a massive claimed range of 450+ KMs. It is expected to be priced between Rs.22-27 Lakhs in India.

  1. Mercedes-Benz EQA

The upcoming electric car from Mercedes, or the electric twin to the GLA is also expected in 2022. It gets a 66.5kWh battery that produces 190HP and 370nm. It has a claimed range of up-to 426KMS. Price is expected to be around Rs.60 Lakhs in India.

  1. Volvo XC40 Recharge

The XC40 recharge will get a 78kWh battery pack powering 2 electric motors. Total power output will be 402HP and 660nm of torque along with a claimed range of 418KMs. It will go on sale in India in 2022, at a price somewhere around Rs.50 Lakhs.

  1. Renault Zoe

Renault is expected to enter the electric market in India with the Zoe, in 2022. Prices are expected to be around Rs.8-10 Lakhs. It will get a 52kWh battery with an estimated range of 394KMs.

Mahindra’s eKUV100 is expected in India in the coming year. It will compete with the Tigor EV and the upcoming Altroz EV as well. Price is expected to be under Rs.10 Lakhs.

  1. Tata Tiago EV

Tata will soon launch the Tiago EV probably with the same specs that we see on the Tigor EV. This will make for a good option for someone who wants a small, compact car for city driving. Price is expected to be around Rs.7-9 Lakhs.

Yes, you read that right! Tata is planning on getting the Sierra back in India as an electric vehicle. It will compete with the Hyundai Kona and the MG ZSev. Price is expected to be between Rs.18-20 Lakhs. It is expected to be unveiled in India in 2022.

The Futuro-e is Maruti’s premium EV, in the range of Rs.15 Lakhs. It will be placed a segment above the WagonR EV. It is expected in India in the next year.

The Leaf has been on sale in foreign markets for quite some time now. It will launch in India next year as a premium e-Hatch, and will be priced around Rs.30 Lakhs. The Leaf also gets a host of ADAS features. It produces 150HP and 320nm of torque, and the estimated range is around 400KMs.

  1. Electric vehicle will be boon for our environment but their price and mileage will definitely going to impact the sale of these cars in indian market.

    • Hello Dr. Yadav,

      On paper and upfront, electric cars do look green for the environment. But on the back end, if you consider as the life span of 5 years of a vehicle, electric cars are more polluting to the environment than IC counterparts. This has to do with the manufacturing of electric cars, especially the batteries and the way electricity is produced (that is, thermal power plants in India). Hope that was help full, stay pinned 🙂
