So, it seems like the lawmakers in Haryana have finally woken up! Still wondering how? Well, Gurugram police recently decided to take serious action on all found driving on the wrong side of the road.
This news was delivered to us by the Assistant Commissioner of Police Preet Pal Singh. According to the Asst. Commissioner the traffic personal have been strictly directed to issue a challan along with suspending the licenses for those found driving on the wrong side of the road.

However, if the offence is repeated it will be a permanent termination one’s license, which simply means that you will never be able to drive LEGALLY!
So, if an accident occurs due to the wrong side driving, the concerned will also be booked under Section 304 (2) of the Indian Penal Code and will be given a minimum of 10 years punishment. Preet Pal Singh also shared the data of the total number of road accidents in Gurugram.
Complying to the Motor Vehicles Act, the Gurugram police fined over 40,000 people in 2019 and over 35,000 people in 2020 for driving on the wrong side of the road.
Singh also conveyed a vital message and requested everyone to follow all the safety norms and to ensure not to put their’s and other’s life at risk.
