Design
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto now looks very similar to the Celerio, which was launched in 2021. It also borrows some bits from the Spresso but mostly looks like a smaller version of the Celerio. The design is plain and simple, nothing flashy or out of the box here, and this works well with the target customers. The front lamps, grille, taillights, and the ORVMs are now bigger in size and the overall dimensions are also slightly increased. Sadly, even on the top trim, the Alto doesn’t get the option of having alloy wheels.

Features and safety on the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto
The new Alto gets some new features including a touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also gets a digital driver’s display which is a good change. Interior quality remains the same, however, power windows have been added to all 4 doors. For safety, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki Alto gets dual airbags up front, along with ABS and reverse parking sensors.

Engine
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki will only get one petrol engine. It is a 1L unit that produces ~67HP and will be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. Efficiency is of utmost importance for this motor which is why power figures have been compromised.

Is it worth the price?
The expected cost of a fully loaded Alto is around Rs. 5 Lakhs. This is much more than an average Alto buyer will be expecting but it does look like it is worth the price. Maruti has added some basic safety features to the Alto too which justify the jump in the prices. All in all, the new Alto looks like a perfect city car that is reliable and can last you more than a decade!
