Audi’s flagship SUV- the Q8 has got an amazing 5-star rating in the Euro NCAP crash test. The last round of the Euro NCAP has just concluded and the Audi Q8 and the MG ZS EV were among the last cars to be tested. Just like the Audi Q8, the ZS EV has also scored a 5-star rating in the NCAP crash test results.

The test results are valid for 45TDI, 50TDI and the 55TSI Quattro Tiptronic forms. The crash test results were stated for both the left-hand as well as the right-hand drive versions of the SUV. As we all know the crash test is conducted on the base variant of all the cars. The Q8 which was tested for the crash safety had 8 airbags seatbelt pre-tensioners with load limiters, speed assist, lane keep assist and Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) for pedestrians and cyclists in both city and inter-urban settings, and more, as standard.

Coming straight to the results, the Q8 performed really well. The adult occupancy score turned out to be 93% and for the child occupancy, the Audi Q8 scored 87%. Talking about the safety assist, Audi Q8 scored 73%. Not bad we must say!

The Audi Q8 arrives in India on 15th January 2020 as of now. The Q8 55 TFSI that is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine is expected to be the version that’ll come to India. The flagship SUV of the premium carmaker is expected to come with a price tag of Rs 1 Crore! As soon as Audi launches the Q8 in India, it will take on the Range Rover Sport, Porsche Cayenne and the upcoming BMW X6, which is also expected to launch in 2020.
