Chinese automaker BYD showcased the Seal EV at the 2023 Auto Expo. The BYD Seal is a premium sedan that competes with the Tesla Model 3 in international markets. Recently, BYD launched the Atto 3 in India at Rs. 33.99 Lakhs. The Seal will be coming to India sooner than you think! Here’s everything you need to know about the BYD Seal EV!
BYD Seal Design
The BYD Seal follows the ‘Ocean X’ concept that BYD showcased in 2021. It has a coupe-like design with an all-glass roof and looks ultra-modern. The car is full of fine details all around. The headlights are sharp and sleek, and the DRLs are four c-shaped units. At the rear, an LED bar across the tailgate maintains the minimalist electric charm. The BYD Seal EV also gets flush door handles, which smoothly pop out once you unlock the car. It measures 1,460mm in height, 1,875mm in width, and 4,800mm in length.
BYD Seal Features
On the inside, the BYD Seal features a heated windscreen, heated seats, wireless charging, and many more convenient features that remain unconfirmed. However, considering the expected pricing, the BYD Seal EV will be loaded with features. It gets a 10.25-inch screen for the driver and a 15.6-inch infotainment screen. Yes, the screen is massive, but there’s more to this screen. Just like the infotainment unit on the BYD Atto 3, this screen can rotate and you can set it vertically or horizontally!
BYD Seal | Battery & Range
The BYD Seal EVgets two battery options. The first is a 61.4kWh unit that can run up to 550 km on a single charge. This battery is paired with a single motor that makes 218HP. The other option is an 82.5kWh battery that can run more than 700 km on a single charge. This battery can be paired with two motors. The combined output is 530HP with a 0-100km/hr timing of just 3.8 seconds! BYD will likely launch the variant with a larger battery for India.
BYD Seal | Pricing & Launch
The Seal is expected to be priced around Rs. 70 – 75 Lakhs. As we said, this will be a very premium sedan. It will compete with other luxury brands like Jaguar, Mercedes Benz, and BMW. The Seal is expected to launch in India by the end of 2023.
