French OEM Citroen is all set to launch a new car this year. The all-new Citroen C3 will be a micro-SUV that will be produced locally at Ctiroen’s plant in Tamil Nadu. The C3 has been spotted testing in India quite a few times now, and this signals that a launch is due soon! Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming Citroen C3!
The C3 will follow a European design similar to what we have seen on the C Aircross. An elegant, simple yet detailed approach is what could be seen on the upcoming micro-SUV. The design will surely stand out amongst the crowd of similar-looking hatchbacks and SUVs that Indians are usually used to.
The C3 will get a single 1.2L Petrol engine, with the option of a turbo. The NA version will produce about 89HP and the turbocharged unit will churn out around 100HP. The engine is most likely to be mated with a 5-Speed automatic and a 5-Speed manual gearbox.
Features on the Citroen C3
Looking at the current market, the Citroen will come in with all the bells and whistles one would expect on this car. A 10-inch infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ABS, ESP, rear parking sensors, multiple USB sockets and steering mounted controls will be a part of the package.
Competition of the Citroen C3
The Citroen C3 will compete against cars like the Tata Punch, Maruti Swift, Maruti Ignis, Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i10 and Mahindra KUV100. The higher models can also be stacked up against some premium hatches like the Tata Altroz and the Hyundai i20.
Pricing and Launch
The Citroen will most likely be priced between Rs.6-10 Lakhs in India. Citroen aims for up to 90% localization of parts to keep the manufacturing costs low. It is expected to be launched in India by June 2022!
