Great Wall Motors to Showcase Haval, ORA R1 EV at Auto Expo 2020

Great Wall Motors (GWM) is planning to make its official debut into the Indian market at the Auto Expo 2020. Taking cues from MG (Morris Garages) success in India, Great Wall Motors is eyeing India’s SUV and electric car segment. GWM will be showcasing their line-up of Haval SUVs along with with the world’s cheapest electric car as claimed by the company. Haval and ORA are sub-brands of Great Wall Motors.

Here are the 3 Great Wall Motors cars, you should definitely check out at the Auto Expo 2020:

1. Haval H6 Compact SUV

   

   GWM’s Haval H6 is a 5-seater SUV which will rival the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Kia Seltos, Jeep Compass in India. The Haval H6 will boast features like 9-inch infotainment system, a fully digital instrument panel, panoramic sunroof, heated seats, dual-zone climate control system along with safety features like lane departure warning, lane change assists, multiple airbags, ABS with EBD etc.

   For the engine, the SUV will come with two options; 1.5-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual and seven-speed DCT automatic.

2. Haval H9 SUV

   

   The Haval H9 by GWM is a 7-seater SUV pitched against the likes of the Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the Mahindra Alturas G4 in India. Similar to the H6, the H9 will also get a host of features both on the inside and the outside. Features like digital infotainment system and instrument panel, multiple airbags with active and passive safety system, hill-hold function and all-terrain control system will be present in the H9 SUV.

   As of now, the Chinese specification of the Haval H9 gets a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine with a ZF-sourced 8-speed automatic transmission.

3. ORA R1 EV

   

   The ORA EV brand was launched a year back in 2018 by Great Wall Motors. GWM is planning to introduce ORA branded electric cars (R1, R2, iQ) in India including the ORA R1. The ORA R1 is marketed as the cheapest 5-seater electric car in the world. The R1 retails at ¥59,800 or ₹6.14 lakh. Powered by a 33 kWh battery and a top speed of 100 km/h, the ORA R1 has a riding range of around 300 km on a single charge. The R1 electric car also features an AI-enabled voice assistant. Expect the ORA R1 at the GWM pavilion at the 2020 Auto Expo.
