The Volkswagen Tiguan allspace in India was showcased in the 2020 Auto Expo. This time it’s more than just a mear facelift. The premium compact SUV is a little longer than the ongoing Tiguan which is to house an extra row of seats making it a 7-seater vehicle. Both wheelbase, as well as the overall length, has been increased by 110mm and 215mm respectively which opens up more room in the cabin, getting longer will have a hefty amount of weight gain but VW has got it sorted.

- The SUV gets an all-new 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine which delivers 190 Bhp which is a drastic hike from its previous 143 Bhp diesel sibling.
- This powerful engine is mated to an equally exciting 7-speed DSG automatic “4 MOTION” which drives all the 4 wheels giving the car the sporty character from behind the wheel.
Features, Inside and Outside
- Alongside loads of performance, the car has a huge bucket list of features, all-new full LED headlamps and fog lamps with integrated cornering lamps, panoramic sunroof, 3 Zone climate control system, all-digital instrument cluster to name a few.
- The SUV also comes with an occupant safe cabin which includes 7 airbags as standard, ESP, EBD, ABS, a tire-pressure monitoring system, rear parking camera, and sensors.
- The vehicle misses on a 360-degree camera, auto parallel park, front parking sensors, lane keep assist which could be a deal-breaker for some.
Pricing and Rivals
- The VW would be coming as a Completely Built-Up unit (CBU) so it is expected to be priced a bit on the higher side.
- The Premium compact SUV will be priced at around 35-40 lacs (Ex-Showroom). Some upfront rivals of this VW’s offering are Skoda Kodiaq, BMW X1, Audi Q3, Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLA which offer a tough competition in the overall package considering the performance on tap and features.
