Jeep Avenger VS Hyundai Creta | 2023 Models Compared!

The compact SUV segment in India is getting more and more competitive every day. From Volkswagen to Tata, every manufacturer wants to jump in on this ride. While the Koreans currently rule this segment with the Creta and Seltos, other manufacturers are also rising up. Jeep is one such brand that doesn’t want to hold back. In a promising segment like this one, Jeep wants an entry. The American carmaker is planning on entering this segment with the Jeep Avenger. This SUV should launch in India next year, right about the time Hyundai launches the 2023 Creta. So today, let’s take a look at the comparison of Jeep Avenger vs Hyundai Creta (both 2023 models).

  • Design

The designs of both these cars are very different. Hyundai has adapted to a new design language which can be seen on the new Tucson. The 2023 Creta which was unveiled in Indonesia recently follows a similar design, at least at the front. The rear remains mostly unchanged apart from some new cuts and creases. Overall, the Creta looks very modern, and it looks like it is built to look new even after a decade. Jeep on the other hand is very traditional in its design. The Avenger looks just bold, tough, and has a powerful stance. Design is mostly a personal preference. However, just because the Avenger looks like a pure SUV, we’ll let it take a win in this Jeep Avenger vs Hyundai Creta design comparison.Hyundai Creta Facelift

  • Features

The feature list of the Indian market for both of these SUVs is unreleased. However, looking at the global version of the Creta, the Indian model will most likely get the same features. This includes a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, a 360-degree camera, wireless charging, ambient lighting, and more. It will also get some ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and auto-emergency braking. The Jeep Avenger will get Level 2 ADAS features along with two 10.25-inch screens, and wireless charging, and it might also get a powered tailgate. Here, even with little information, we can assume that the Creta will win in the features comparison of the Jeep Avenger vs Hyundai Creta.

  • Safety

Both cars are expected to bring along top-notch safety features like ABS, EBD, ESC, TC, hill hold, and 6 airbags. The Creta was recently tested by GNCAP and it scored a mere 3-star rating. Jeep is known for its build quality and it is our assumption that the Avenger will get a much higher safety rating.

  • Jeep Avenger vs Hyundai Creta – Options

In India, the Hyundai Creta gets 2 engine options, petrol, and diesel. Within the petrol, you can choose between a naturally aspirated or a turbocharged engine. The Jeep Avenger will most probably get a petrol engine, and it may also get an electric option with a range of about 500KMs. This will be a game changer as only one other competitor (MG Astor/ZS) has a pure electric alternative. With this, Jeep will be able to play in two different segments with the same car. The petrol variant will be FWD and the EV will have the option of an AWD system.

  • Jeep Avenger vs Hyundai Creta – Engines

Coming to engines, the Jeep Avenger may share its petrol engine with the Citroen C3. The turbo petrol unit on this one produces 110HP and 190nm. The Creta gives you more options to choose from, and the engines are more powerful as well. So, in terms of ICE options, the Creta steps ahead in this comparison of the Jeep Avenger vs Hyundai Creta.

1.5L NA Petrol – 115HP, 144nm

1.5L Diesel – 115HP, 250nm

  • Pricing

The 2023 Hyundai Creta is expected to be priced between Rs. 11 – 20 Lakhs, and the Avenger is also expected to fall in the same bracket. The EV variant of the Avenger, if launched, will be priced between Rs. 16 – 22 Lakhs.

Overall, the Jeep Avenger looks like an exciting option to look forward to in this segment. While it is not a pure 4×4 Jeep experience, it will still be a mini-Compass that people would definitely consider. What would you choose in this Jeep Avenger vs Hyundai Creta comparison?
