The Nissan X-Trail | A Bigger Nissan Kicks?

Nissan X-Trail is all-set to be unveiled in the second half of this year. The X-Trail has been a successful SUV for Nissan since long. The automaker has therefore filed a new patent for the design of the upcoming SUV. We have previewed the patent filed by Nissan and what we saw is a massive SUV once again. Although this time, it looks a bigger version of the Nissan Kicks. The patent was filed by Nissan in Brazil. The images lack detail but we can surely say that this one will carry heavy styling. This will be influenced by the new Juke, as Nissan is looking working towards a familiar look in across the range really soon!

The Nissan X-Trail had a rounded nose till now. The new version has got squared features. This major change is in the front profile makes the SUV look more fresh and appealing. The new version also gets a more prominent grille and larger wheel arches. At the rear, Nissan has gone subtle with the styling. The current boot lid has also been reworked. We see a new spoiler and a new ‘double-bubble’ roof design as well.

The new Nissan X-Trail will have more additions on the inside as well. We see a host of new features and technology inside the cabin. The main features include the new digital instrument cluster. More features that we can expect include an updated infotainment system with satnav features. The gear lever is a black and chrome combo this time. We can expect the SUV to have both diesel and petrol variants. A hybrid is also expected.

Nissan X-Trail didn’t make it into the Indian market in its third generation. We saw this SUV here for the last time in 2014. Will Nissan launch this one in India? For now, Nissan is coming up with the BS6 version of the Kicks for the Indian market.
