Ford India is finally giving the EcoSport a much required facelift. The newer model has been spotted testing in and around of the Chennai plant quite a few times now. The EcoSport has been in the Indian market for 8 years now, and it has proven to be a very important car for Ford. It is also imported to multiple foreign markets including North and South America. It competes with the Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and the Kia Sonet in India.

What’s new on the EcoSport
The 2021 model gets a new grille which looks very aggressive. It is completely blacked out and it also gets a chrome outline. Apart from this, it also gets a new bumper and a changed skid plate. The LED DRLs also get a new, inverted L shape, that house the fog lamps in them. On the rear, not much has changed. We still see the sideways opening tailgate with a full sized alloy spare wheel mounted on it. Speaking of wheels, the EcoSport gets a fresh design on the alloy wheels as well.

Interior
Nothing much has been revealed about the changes on the interior. We expect the new EcoSport to be a little bit more loaded from its older generation. A SYNC infotainment system, electric sunroof, 6 airbags, android auto and apple car-play, keyless go, TPMS are a few features that the EcoSport comes loaded with.

Engine
Under the hood, we don’t expect any changes from the previous generation. We might see the same 1.5L, 100HP diesel and the 1.5L, 123HP petrol engines. While the diesel comes only with a manual gearbox, the petrol also gets the option of a 6-speed torque converter.

Pricing and Launch
We expect the new EcoSport to get a small bump in the pricing. It will stand somewhere between Rs.8-8.5 Lakhs. It will be launching in India in a couple of months and deliveries will follow soon after that.
