Its been a disastrous year for the Indian automobile sector. For the past 10 months, the Indian automobile sector haS been going through a tough time. It is the Great Indian Automobile Crisis of 2019.

Every major auto manufacturer like Maruti Suzuki, Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Tata, Mahindra has faced the brunt. Some reporting sales drop of more than 50%. The reason; sky-high car insurance rates, the slowdown in the Indian economy and the upcoming BS6 (Bharat Stage 6) emission norm.

Car manufacturers started offering staggering discounts of upto a lakh on new cars, the India automotive sector saw a glimpse of hope during the festive season, even the government rolled out a stimulus package to increase new car sale, but all in vain.
But, then there were few new cars, who shockingly dodged this bullet. These cars were immune to the Indian automobile crisis.
The Hyundai Venue
Starting with the earliest new car launch of 2019. The Hyundai Venue emerged a runaway success since its debut on May 2019. According to official records, Hyundai received a staggering 80,000 bookings and has sold more than 42,000 units of the Hyundai Venue just in September.

The MG Hector
The MG Hector arrived in India in the month of June 2019. Since its launch, MG has sold over 6,000 units of the Hector just in September. The booking records for the Hector were so over-the-top that MG had to suspend bookings for the Hector for a short period. MG has reportedly doubled its production capacity in its factory located at Halon, Gujarat to keep up with the intense demand for the Hector in the Indian market.
KIA Seltos
KIA’s maiden car in India; the KIA Seltos has broken many records. Launched in July 2019, the Seltos set a new record by registering more than 50,000 bookings. KIA sold more than 8,000 Seltos just in the month of September.

Maruti Suzuki S-Presso
Maruti’s first venture in the small hatch segment in a decade. The S-Presso was launched 30th September 2019 and in just 11 days since its launch, the S-Presso already received 10,000 bookings. The Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is the 8th car in Maruti’s line-up to be BS6 compliant.
